Waterfowl Hunts with MC Outfitters

Mc Outfitters is in one of the first agricultural areas that migrating geese and ducks encounter on their annual journey from Northern nesting grounds to southern wintering areas. Combine this with thousands of local birds and your opportunities are endless. We offer hunting from September 1st and runs until October 31st each year. Our area boasts ducks like Mallards, pintails with bonuses of wigon’s, blue and green winged teal. Greater Canadian geese, lesser with bonuses of cacklers, speckle belly and snows.

Daily limits include 8 geese, 8 ducks and 60+ snow geese.

Here at Mc Outfitters we use a variety of full body, silhouette and moving decoys to ensuring we have what it takes to get birds on the ground for our hunters. Our hunts are conducted from willow, bale, box or layout blinds.

We offer 3 different packages for our hunters:

Package 1:
Monday-Wednesday (3 morning hunts, 2 evening hunts)
Arrive at Mc Outfitters lodge anytime after 2pm on Sunday, get settled in, enjoy a hardy home cooked meal, and get ready for an early Monday morning shoot. Return to the lodge, enjoy a late breakfast and light lunch before heading back out for a Monday evening shoot. Same goes for Tuesday with two shoots and a Wednesday morning shoot before heading on your way after a late breakfast.

Package 2:
Wednesday-Saturday (3 morning hunts, 2 evening hunts)
Arrive at Mc Outfitters lodge anytime after 2pm on Wednesday, get settled in, enjoy a home cooked meal, and get ready for an early Thursday morning shoot. Return to the lodge, enjoy a late breakfast and light lunch before heading back out for a Thursday evening shoot. Same goes for Friday with two shoots and a Saturday morning shoot before heading on your way after a late breakfast.

Package 3:
Monday-Friday (5 morning hunts, 4 evening hunts)
Arrive at Mc Outfitters lodge anytime after 2pm on Sunday, get settled in, enjoy a home cooked meal, and get ready for a week of hunting geese and ducks, both morning and evenings. Your hunt will end with a Friday morning hunt, and late breakfast.

Whichever hunt package you choose each hunter has a possession limit of a 3-day bag limit. This includes 24 geese, 24 ducks and 60+ snow geese.

Quill Lake Canada Goose

Geese that have white patches on their bellies, unusual feet markings, and white markings under the wings are called “Quill Lake Geese” or “Quill Geese.” The Quill Lakes are very exciting to see when one of these is locked up right in front of you! This anomaly can be found in any sub-species of Canada goose, it is just extremely rare in most areas. Many rumors surround Quill Lake Geese. These birds were first identified in the Quill Lakes area in central Saskatchewan, thus the name, but there are a few different stories about just why their colouring is different. When you get a good look at its belly, they are unmistakeable and definitely trophy worthy.

The Quill Lake goose can come in with a flock of typical geese - lessers, greaters or cacklers. As rare as these birds are, we do see a few every year.
